As of October 26th, 2004, only Danes traveling with a machine readable passport will be admitted into The United States of America. Due to a lot of queries regarding traveling to the United States after 26th October, 2004 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hereby informs you of the following: Denmark has produced machine readable passports since 1997. After 26th October 2004 Danish citizens must be in possession of a machine readable passport if they wish to enter the United States without a visa under the Visa Waiver Programme. This rule also applies for children who will need their own machine readable passport – being listed in their parents’ passport is not enough.
